Honeymoon Island Popularity Paces State Parks

For the sixth year in a row, Honeymoon Island State Park continues to lead the way in attendance with more than 1 million visitors, helping fund the network of 170 other parks and trails throughout the state of Florida.

The twin gems of Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island are perennial favorites for tourists and industry experts, like Dr. Beach, alike. Last year, more than 1 million visitors headed to Honeymoon Island, which brought in almost $2.3 million as the park operated at a profit of $1.2 million.

Local economic impact is proven, but the success of our park helps with visitation of others around the state as the profits go to fund care and maintenance for the other 170 parks and trails around the state whose profit doesn’t equal Honeymoon Island’s.
