Visit St. Pete/Clearwater director of meetings & conventions, Suzanne Scully, earned the Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) designation this year.
Scully was one of 18 industry professionals recognized with the highest educational achievement for destination management professionals at last week’s Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) Convention in Seattle. Scully has been a part of VSPC since 2005 and is in her fifth year as director of sales, conventions and meetings.
“I feel so honored to be awarded this designation and it gives me a deeper appreciation for what we all do on a daily basis,” Scully said.
The CDME program is designed to prepare senior DMO executives and managers for increasing change and competition and to become more effective organizational and industry leaders. In its 20th year, more than 150 destination marketing professionals have achieved the CDME designation, including VSPC’s executive director DT Minich and deputy director David Downing.
