PSTA Sets Ridership Record in December

While VSPC was smashing visitation records in December, another Pinellas County entity was setting a new high mark of its own.

Transit ridership with the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) reached an all-time high of 1,097,842 rides in the month of December. That figure equates to a jump of more than 9% over the same period in 2010.

Agency officials attribute part of the gain to the popularity of the new Central Avenue Trolley and new Jolley Trolley (pictured) service for the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

In the near future, PSTA is hoping to expand bus service, increasing access to public transit service throughout the community.
