Later this month, Visit St. Pete/Clearwater will serve as the sponsor of Destination Showcase DC, the annual meetings and conventions trade season opener. One of the busiest confabs of its kind, the Feb. 28 event draws 1,600 conference and convention professionals from 200 destinations around the U.S for a packed day of exhibits and networking events.
VSPC’s Director of Meetings & Conventions Suzanne Scully and Deputy Director David Downing will represent the area, along with 13 hotel partners. During the show’s keynote luncheon, which VSPC is hosting, Scully and Downing will present St. Pete/Clearwater and screen the area’s new 30 second commercials.
The team’s booth will highlight St. Pete/Clearwater as a top meetings destination and offer attendees a chance to snag one of the 100 sandcastle centerpieces supplied by VSPC for the luncheon.
“We look forward to collecting many requests for proposals,” says Scully, who has attended Destination Showcase DC since 2005 and has brought home as many as 13 requests in the past. She’ll follow up the DC event with another showcase in Chicago in June which VSPC will also sponsor.
