’100 Days of Summer’ Grand Prize Winners Selected

Fresh off the conclusion of its first-ever ’100 Days of Summer’ campaign, Visit St. Pete/Clearwater has announced the winners of its grand prize—a pair of mega beach bashes for each winner and 99 of their friends.

Aaron Pagley of Clearwater won the bash scheduled for the evening of Oct. 28 at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort on Clearwater Beach, while Shirley McClain of Tampa won the party set for Nov. 19 at TradeWinds Island Resorts on St. Pete Beach.

The prizes include food, drinks and entertainment. Plus, photographers will be on hand to commemorate the celebration with the winner. The host resorts will be offering a special rate to the winners’ party guests to encourage them to stay for the weekend.

As part of the promotion, 14 weekly prizes were also given away. These were stay packages—one for every week of the campaign—and they included three night’s accommodations, attraction tickets and dining certificates. In all, 57,730 entries were received for the drawings.

Finally, to highlight the destination’s attractions and experiences, the promotion included an online calendar that gave a different reason to visit for each day of the summer, from visiting the Armed Forces Military Museum on Memorial Day to experiencing a Gulfport Art Walk or Night in the Islands in Tarpon Springs. Each morning, VSPC posted the day’s event or activity on its Facebook page, www.facebook.com/visitstpeteclearwater.

The participation and success of this year’s campaign has led to VSPC planning another 100 Days promotion next summer.
